Leisure and Lucknow

After Coming home, I spent two weeks in complete relaxation. There were no tensions and for the first time, no studies. I was rid of my Engineering textbooks and I had nothing but time on my mind. I spent a good six hours watching movies, programming and playing FIFA 09. After that, I spent quality time with my parents. This is the only time I am going to be able to relax for quite some time as the new term starts in January, and already time is flying. Our results came out a few days back, and I got a decent 8.73 GPA, which is good, but I have to improve a lot to become a Nine Pointer.

After some enjoyment in Greater Noida, I made a trip to Lucknow, my birthplace. It was nice, returning after a long time. I am currently at my paternal grandparents place, and am having a blast. I am being pampered with great food, something which I couldnt enjoy in the last few months. Coming to Lucknow is always a great feeling and I always feel at home. In some time, I will be off to my maternal grandparents home, also in Lucknow, and have some great fun there. By the time I return I would have gained 5 kilos and would have shed my image of a skinny guy…So far, the holidays have been complete with enjoyment and relaxation, something I would have to yearn for in the future…

A Sort of Homecoming Parts II and III

The last week was my homecoming week. I had two homecomings. One was in Pune, though not being my home still felt like home. I spent three days in Pune with my brother Gaurav, who is also pursuing Computer Engineering from Symbiosis Institute of Technology. Meeting him after four months was a strange experience, since we have spent 18 years together. We had a blast together and had all the fun that we used to have in a year in those three days. I also got to know many of his friends there, who are equally nice and hospitable. The entire time I was there made me feel that I am a part of his college too…

In the first two days, Gaurav had to attend a Robotics workshop which took away most of his day. Still, we had the whole night and we spent it watching Prison Break, playing Table Tennis and freaking out. He even got me to do his Civil sheet, which I did out of necessity. Then on the final day, I had planned for the movie 2012, and had booked the tickets (Gaurav was bunking the day…hehe) only to see my plans go up in smoke. I had an ear completely blocked (due to cold…and is still blocked), and the doc advised me to take rest. Movies aside, we had loads of fun. Capuccino in Cafe Coffee Day, CAD-B (a thick, large and delicious chocolate drink), Chocolate Toast, and freaking out in the city pretty much wrapped up the day…In the night, my friend Ripun tattooed (with paint…) my face. Brilliant…Pune was a excellent experience for me, one that has left a lasting impression…

From Pune, came the real homecoming. I was back to Greater Noida. The journey wasnt too bad…I dont even remember anything of it. I was feeling very sick before boarding the train. I just remember boarding the train, and getting off. I slept throughout the journey. That did get rid of my sickness though. The burning desire to get back home was realised when I entered the door of the place I had left four and a half months earlier. Now I can get to enjoy the pleasures of home and home cooked food for at least a month till I get back…That is the problem with being college students…Home becomes a privelege that can be enjoyed only at the end of four long months…
